The original idea of these cubic houses came about in the 1970s. The concept behind these houses is that Piet Blom tries to create a forest by each cube representing an abstract tree; therefore the whole village becomes a forest. The cubes contain the living areas, which are split into three levels. The triangle-shaped lower level contains the living area. The middle level contains the sleeping area and a bathroom, while the top level, also in a triangular shape, is used as either an extra bedroom or a living space.

لطالما ألهمت النجوم ببهائها وجمالها خيال الشعراء والمفكرين منذ أقدم العصور، واليوم بعد أن أصبح لدينا من العلم ما يجعلنا نذهب لأبعد مما تراه العين ازداد انبهارنا ودهشتنا من بديع صنع الخالق سبحانه وتعالى في هذا الكون البديع
فتخيلوا أن هذه اللوحة الفنية بارعة الجمال لم ترسم بقلم فنان، بل هي صورة تم التقاطها بمجسات تلسكوب هابل لسديم أوريون الذي يبعد عنّا 1,500 سنة ضوئية (أي 14,190,792,600,000,000 كيلومتر)!! قبل أن نتحدث عن هذا السديم دعونا نتعرف أولاً على معنى كلمة سديم:
السديم هو سَحَابة عملاقة تتكون من الغبار والغازات كغاز الهيدروجين والهيليوم وبعض الغازات المتأينة الأخرى، ويوجد عدد هائل من هذه السحب العملاقة في أرجاء الكون بين النجوم لذا تُسمى سحابة بَيْنَجْمِيّة. وحتى لا ترتبط كلمة سحابة في ذهنكم بما نراه على أرضنا تخيلوا أن هذه السحابة التي ترونها في الصورة والتي لا يتعدى حجمها عدة سنتيمترات على شاشة حاسوبكم يبلغ عرضها 24 سنة ضوئية تقريباً (أي 227,052,682,000,000 كيلومتر) فقط
المدهش أن هذا المشهد البديع يحمل متناقضين نادراً ما يجتمعا: الموت والحياة! فهو من جانب نتج عن انفجار نجم كشمسنا بعد انتهاء عمرها وتبعثر بقايا هذا النجم في الفضاء الكوني، وفي نفس الوقت هو مكان لميلاد نجوم جديدة حين تقوم قوى الجاذبية بجذب الذرات المتناثرة في السديم لتنهار جاذبياً على بعضها البعض فيولد نجم جديد شاب من أطلال النجم القديم!!
نعود الآن لسديمنا الذي سنتحدث عنه في هذا الموضوع وهو سديم أوريون
يُعرف سديم أوريون بعدة أسماء أيضاً منها Messier 42 M42وهو أحد أكثر السُدُم سطوعاً في سماءنا لدرجة أنه يمكن ملاحظته بالعين المجردة ليلاً في الأجواء المناسبة
يبعد هذا السديم عنا كما سبق وذكرنا حوالي 1,500 سنة ضوئية (14,190,792,600,000,000 كيلومتر) وهو بذلك أقرب منطقة عملاقة لولادة النجوم بالنسبة لمجرتنا (قريب جداً).
يحتوي السديم كما ذكرنا نجوماً شابة تقوم بإطلاق الأشعة فوق البنفسجية في السديم، مما يؤدي للمعان وتوهج الهيدروجين والغازات الأخرى التي يتكون منها السديم لتظهر بهذا التدرج اللوني البديع.
ثم تخيلوا أن هذه الأرقام الهائلة كلها توجد في مجرة واحدة فقط بينما يحوي كوننا “أو ما نراه منه” أكثر من 100,000,000,000 مجرة!!!
لا أجد أمام هذه الأرقام والصور التي يصعب على عقولنا استيعابها إلا أن أقول: هذا خلق الله فأروني ماذا خلق الذين من دونه؟!!!
